Prince Harry, the kid brother of Prince William, admitted that he killed Taliban insurgents while serving in the British army on a tour of Afghanistan.
Prince Harry, a Apache helicopter pilot, just finished a four month tour of duty. He served as a gunner on an attack helicopter, and said that he killed enemy fighters from the cockpit.
“Yea, so lots of people have, “Prince Harry told the press. “The squadron’s been out here. Everyone’s fired a certain amount.”
Prince Harry operated rockets, missiles and a 30mm cannon.
This was his second deployment in Afghanistan. Prince Harry had to fight for the right to serve on the front lines. When he enlisted, military leaders tried to coddle him by keeping him away from the action. This infuriated Harry, who made many public remarks about wanting to serve on the front lines like every other enlisted soldier.
“Take a life to save a life,” Prince Harry said. “That’s what we revolve around, I suppose. If there’s people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we’ll take them out of the game, I suppose.”
His big brother Prince William is also in the military, serving as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot. William’s military activities are confined mostly to the U.K., and he and Kate spend much of their time near his base in Wales.
